Fair Competition Rule
It states the boat will race in the class [either T-750 or T-850] that it is most competitive in.

The boat must fit within the rules of the T Classes.
The boat must be a composite V hull 13 to 15 feet weighing no less than 594 lbs [boat, motor and driver].
Motor has a maximum displacement of 60 cubic inch for 2 stroke models and 70 hp for 4 stroke motors

Engine size
In T750 the 49 cubic Mercury twin carb. is legal [but on probation] and would race for points.
There currently are none racing in T-750 class.
T-750 class allows all 50-60 hp 2 cylinder motors some are over 750 cc.

How the Fair Competition Rule works
Basically we will allow NON competitive T-850 boats to race in T-750
PROVIDED:
- the boat is NOT superior to the T-750 boats.
- it must race at the T-850 minimum 725 lb weight
- it receives NO points for racing in T-750.

Step up rule applies
Any T-750 boat may race in T-850 at its 594 lb. minimum weight and it receives T-850 points.
Same goes for the T-850 boat that ran in T-750. It can run in T-850 as well and will receive T-850 points.

For those wanting to try boat racing this rule allows you to race in both T classes. It only takes 3 boats with the same performance in the same race for all three drivers to have fun.
Give it some thought it you have a 50 to 55 mph boat.

Here are some examples and results of larger displacement 3 cylinder motors racing in T-750.

Jake ran a 13 foot Checkmate with a STOCK 49 cubic inch, 70 hp, long shaft, big foot.
I am guessing, but I think it was a 54 mph boat. Jake could run with pure T-750's for a few laps and tail off
as the water got rougher.

Craig Fraser ran a race prepared Critchfield, 75 hp 49 stinger, short shaft, big foot. It was a 57 mph boat and ran top 2 in the class.
The boat was TOO competitive and class members were concerned that with a lighter driver that boat would dominate the class.
It ran one season.

Dan ran a stock 49 cubic inch, twin carb Mercury on a Delta. Dan didn't run a lot of races, but he has competitive when he did.

Craig Fraser ran a race prepared 13 foot composite Allison with a STOCK 3 cylinder twin carb Mercury. That was a 58 mph boat and Craig could run top 3.

Why the 3 cylinder twin carb Mercury is on probation.
- we have not seen a race prepared Mercury 2 cylinder twin carb motor race in the class. Experienced racers believe the race prep
Mercury motor on race prep hull at average T-750 weight would dominate the T-750 class.
- the motor is a T-850 motor because of its displacement.
- we don't want people building Mercury 49, 2 carb, race motors
- there are lots of legal motors on the market place.
