Ok James.... Your videos are very nice, the video quality and the editing. I'm getting my hero 3 black out, and would like to be able to do the same. What do you do after the videos are recorded, what do you use for downloading to the computer, editing, and uploading? Is it difficult? I am pretty computer stupid, if it isn't easy I'll try a little harder, but not much lol |

Set your Camera to 1080 at 60 FPS best for what we are doing. i use Final cut pro and a mac book pro... but the videos off the GoPRo are quite large so i use a Fire Wire Solid Sate portable hard drive to keep the Files off my computer to keep the speed up. what computer and operating system are you thinking of using? |

Now you're asking me computer shit.... I have a computer. It has an internal 80g hard drive and external 250g hard drive. Running windows, pre vista, whatever version that was... Can't remember processor speed or size. It's not hooked up yet, but I have a feeling maybe I'm in need of an upgrade. That's what you're going to say, right? Lol..... I'm not into computers at all, sorry... |

Sticker says intel core 2 duo, but I know I'd have to fire it up to get the specs. Oh and it crashes every time the disc drive spins a disc, so I can't read from or write to discs lol Hmmm.... That software is pricey... |

i would say you could use your current computer. whats going to slow you down is transferring the Gopro footage you can try 720 on the gopro settings to speed that up. find out what is similar to FCP on Windows and start playing. i have been spoiled with technology because of my dads career in Film. but you will catch on. |

You could probably do something with that computer, but your going to struggle. Video - especially hi-def 720/1080 needs a ton of horsepower, ram and storage. James SSD is perfect. There are some basic video software packages out there for beginners. Final Cut is a monster - not to mention expensive. Huge learning curve. Look for something entry level and you'll have way more success. Typically (with a good setup) your looking at 1 -2 hours of time per minute of final video. Depends on how fancy and what res you render in. It's fun - but tedious |

Update: my computer is too slow. Hooked it up to my 50" tv and downloaded 2 5 minute videos of my girls tubing behind the boat. It lags like crazy no matter what I do when I play from the computer, if I play straight through the camera it works like normal. I need a new computer! |
