As some of you know, I went straight from Jasper ODBA finals to Florida for vacation. I did a 1 week wakeboard camp at Orlando Watersports Complex (http://www.aktionparks.com/orlando). I wanted to give everybody a heads-up about this place since I had a great time and learned a lot. I looked into several different wakeboard schools/camps (there's at least 10 in Florida alone), and OWC is one of the few that has both cable systems (3, for beginners to expert) and a boat lake at the same facility. I did 3 1-hour boat lessons a day, and filled in with cable to practice. Overall this place was great, really good instructors. If you're looking for a vacation idea (especially if you have kids), take a look. It's about 20 minutes away from Universal Studios and all the other theme park stuff.

Matt

P.S. Plan on being sore - really sore - for a few days afterwards :D :(

Geez, I should have talked to Erik before I planned the Orlando trip. There were definitely some hideous locals

Northbase, I also did fly-boarding (amazing, but potentially addictive and expensive - like other fun stuff I guess ?). Falcon fly boarding: http://www.falconflyboarding.com/client-pictures/ . One afternoon I drove south of Orlando and went on an Everglades air boat tour, really cool too, inexpensive, saw some 'gators. Great to see the Keeling crew too, I'm going to miss the annual visit to "Allison Wonderland" :D

Central Florida/Orlando has several water ski/wakeboard schools and parks, the latter are lit up into the evening like a ski hill.
Bout 8 years ago, business trip to Orlando, went water skiing for the afternoon rather than golfing(ugh!).
Greg, you/& Jr should hook up with one of these schools over your winter trip,....not suggesting your ageing rack needs ski schooling:)

Back in the early 90's my sister used to spend time training at Scarpa's before the 'footing season got started up here.
I've often thought about booking a few days to brush up on some tricks but then I come to my senses.

An afternoon of waterskiing sounds waaaay more fun than golfing. I like that idea Eric! Yeah man I have missed your insightful rants lol! To this day I laugh at the thought of your pet unicorn that you named Unique Horn. LOL!!!
