This is a 13 foot center tunnel flats skiff boat. It’s the smallest fiberglass center tunnel V hull I have seen. Resent improvements to the larger center tunnels....power jack plates and transom mounted water pickups have greatly improved the boats performance. The initial problem I see with the design as a TBoat is where does the driver sit? You would need to incorporate the tunnel as the seat. Maybe the seating is similar to a SeaDoo with inline seating for two. On the TBoat the tunnel wouldn’t need to be a deep so the inline seating idea could work. Interesting boat! https://www.microskiff.com/cdn-cgi/imag ... eg.175916/ |

A 10 to 12 inch wide tunnel, 5 to 6 inches deep should work on a Checkmate MX13. It has a wide beam and the V shape transom suited for a tunnel. Most V hulls with pad bottoms originally have a hook near the back. It would be an idea to put a wedge in the back of the tunnel. That will compress the air, lift the stern and lower the bow similar to the hook in the running pad. |
