From what I saw on Facebook the molds in question were junk. The search for a plug is on now. |

October 24 at 9:31 AM Does anybody know where I can find a worn out old Delta? Condition not overly important, in fact the rougher (aka cheaper) the better, lol Would even consider a broken one depending on the amount of hull damage. Thom Waters Thom Waters Need one to build a mold. Help me make a cool little boat available again! I wonder if Matt could loan Tom his Delta to make the plug. I know Matt is interested in the process of boat building. |

I chatted with Thom a bit yesterday evening, and brought up the idea of using my boat, and mentioned the idea of a longer version like the Excalibur 14 ft.. It sounds like the boat would get sacrificed to make the mold, and mine would need extensive prep work to begin with. I think at this point they are still looking for molds or a donor/sacrificial hull. |

Several years ago Mike Hooper was looking into building and selling NEW improved Critchfields. He was going to use modern technology and scan his Critchfield. Once in the computer program he would make all of the corrections and improvements and then use the revised program to make the mold. You should be able to do the same with the Delta. Plus you can change the program to change the boat size if you wanted a 14 footer. |

Critchfield molds for sale on BRF. http://www.boatracingfacts.com/forums/s ... post156046 I understand the idea of staying with a design that works. But why not make something new and exciting |

I think there are current Critch molds here in Ontario, not sure if Top Gun is still doing them or if they've been sold off. What's involved in the scanning process? I have a perfectly good 16' Hydrostream with a 10" pad that is in hiberbation for the winter, but could be dragged out before the snow flies.... |
