It's time to undergo surgery on my 2000 J-craft. I thought it was a "good one" when I bought it 2 years ago. Already had to put another motor on it and then realized the transom was soaking wet when we changed engines. The deck is coming off so I can easily replace the transom and floor and reinforce the deck. Not sure about the core yet? The deck will get all the cockpit cover snap holes filled and other minor blemishes repaired. Deck and the hull sides will get painted. The bottom still looks to be in good shape.

It's a 19'. It was more difficult to find a 19' in decent shape versus the 17' when I was looking. The thing rides like a tank with the cored deck, sides, and floor. I will weigh it once I get the floor and transom out.

Looks like there will be a family reunion all winter long in the garage! Good luck with the build.

Hey John you're welcome anytime. Just bring your grinder and face mask. You can tell everyone that you helped :)

Hmmmm. Tempting. To become an honorary family member I would be more likely to stop by with some beers and check out the progress on the hulls. In fact in the spirit of family I can help turn it into a competition as to who finishes first :D
