Its all been removed. The Balsa continued for about 3 feet under the deck. I just kept working my way from the transom forward until there was no core left. I wanted to make sure I got it all out though, there were even wet spots in the balsa that far up.

And ya, a bulkhead will be going in, it will be full balsa this time not plywood core. Stringers will be going in as well with knees tied into the transom for strength. Its definitely a learning experience though. Its funny, you set down timelines for when you want to have everything finished and I'm quickly learning that everything always takes longer than you expect.
