I was reading the Doc's remark that Ted's 21 Tuff is only a high 90's boat now, used to run 100+

If it ran 102 before and 98 now, that would be about 8% less power, assuming a simple square relationship.

Is it normal for motors (not 2.5's of course) to get weaker over time? The last time I had a GPS on my brother's Charger it had over 700 hours on it and it still went 73, same as ever.

Of course some people who never keep anything more than a year won't be able to answer this.

Well my old 225 always ran the same...and it's got HUGE hours on it. We don't use our boats enough to time them out.....

I think Ted had a failure and the replacement powerhead wasn't as strong as his original...
