To Compete on the HPBC leader Board you have to make a run down 5 Gallon Bay and have a M.R.S team Witness.

next year we are going to have a starting boat at the 5 Gallon Bay mouth and a radar boat at 3/4 each person will have three official runs and the top from the 3 will be your fastest listed speed The same two GPS' used in all the boats

This LeaderBoard is a Sticky and will have every year listed starting now so we can track the progress of our yearly achievement.

Radar Runs can be fun...but be careful guys (ask RT)

Some of the things we learned about doing radar runs:

Don’t do them on rainy daze as you can get readings on the falling rain instead of the boat. That’s why you can get a reading that says 35 mph when someone is coming at you at 100 mph.

Don’t aim at hulls that have a lot of frontal area, fiberglass is not a good reflector for radar.

Good readings were attained after a boat flys-by aiming at the mid section and jack plate assembly .

Overall Best reading….done by the passenger in the boat alongside the driver and aiming the gun at a steel boat – house door.

Not to be a kill joy but I'm not cool with radar running...even on sleds we do it with a tripod (when we can). To get a good reading you have to be pretty much running at the gun....that's not safe on a sled or especially a vee bottom. We'll call it a radar run but bring your hand heald because even I don't want to see Jamescole run over by Gig's spinning Alliston lol.

AND to the best of my recollection Ken did 104...but with two people ;)

There's no ice on the lake BTW :)

Had to get out of it because of a lumpy lake and boat traffic to deal with... ;)
If any of the STV's would have shown up... they would have been 10-15mph faster...
Gieger would have been on the top of the leader board that weekend if he had his running.
As far as the fast Vee's go we "all" have fast Vee's ... :)

IF's.....that the killer about these things...you can have all the ifs you want...but you don't have the balls to show up, you don't get on the board  . Everyone has a 120mph sled at home too...funny how most of them are "not running right" when the gun comes out  .

Sweet. 5 gallon bay is becoming the pre-eminent proving grounds. Dream police abound too, no geting away with anything. Run what you brung and throw down a number. No more internet speed claims (coming from the slow dude at the back all this rant is ;) ). Time to get a hand held, my dream meter doesn't cut it any longer.
