Ron Hill’s Site had this post: “Reviving the Sport - A call went out for oval track racing opportunities for a 14ft Allison with 90 Yamaha, highlighting the sport's decline.” In my opinion...I don’t think it will happen. APBA have already failed at two efforts to promote similar oval track classes one was the stock class called SSV and a mod class called FV. 90 Yamahas raced in both of those classes. The drag groups did have limited success with racing triples so that is a possibility. The future is to look ahead and get current model outboards racing on the oval track or better still a race course with a right hand turn. Copy proven ideas to improve the performance of the modern outboards. Get outboard manufacturers supporting the sport. I am certainly not opposed to the 90 hp Yamaha on a TBoat. I have had one for 30 years. |
