The marketplace this past spring and summer showed extreme asking prices differences for the same outboard or boat. Many sellers never reduced their asking price while others lowered their asking within a few days. Some sellers removed their ad after a few days and then reposted the same item a few days later. Obviously some sellers needed to sell while others just posted their ad to see if they could get a big return on the sale and didn’t care how long it took.
Lots of items had no chance of selling and looked like they were rusty junk just pulled out of the woods. Handy man opportunities were offered at free to ridiculous prices. Many sellers posted they knew nothing about the item or were selling it for someone else.

Multiple scams with very low asking. Seller usually was in another country.

Most of the items I followed that were desirable and realistically priced all sold in a few days. Sometimes in a few hours. Many returned on the market days later by a new seller at a higher price.
So how successful were you and were you able to purchase what you needed or wanted?? :?:

I found a few 90 Yamaha parts motors and a couple of electrically challenged motors that were not running at purchase. You are right Don that some people looked like they dragged stuff out of the back-40 to list at high prices(buyer beware). There were/are still some deals available but hopefully things will be more realistic next summer. As we have noticed the common 70hp OMC on a Voodoo has dropped in price this year to a more reasonable price for young people to get into the fast boat game! That is a good sign for next years boating!
