Hey! Back into boating and new to the forum! :)

I just acquired a 1986 Checkmate 21' Starflite with an '86 225 Johnson VRO and a Chariot bunk trailer. I'm hanging on to the boat and trailer, selling the engine. The boat needs some work before it will hit the water again and I'll re-power it at that time.

Here are a couple of pics as she sits:

I'll detail the resto as we go!

Cheers!

Welcome to the site!

The boat looks in pretty good shape for the year.

Thank you, it's so very good to be here! :)

Ya, it's apparently been a 'trailer queen' most of it's life. We'll see once we've had a more detailed inspection. It's going to get a pretty thorough once over this winter. :geek:

Thanks for the welcome guys! :) I'm pretty excited to be working on this rig!

My only other previous rig was the old family runabout.

Me in the wetsuit circa 1982:

I restored the '71 Winner Cobra, ditched the '71 Evinrude 100 and hung a new Merc 125 on it. It was an education to restore and a lot of fun to drive, but seriously limited in terms of versatility. :D

After the resto 2004:
