Hey! Back into boating and new to the forum!  I just acquired a 1986 Checkmate 21' Starflite with an '86 225 Johnson VRO and a Chariot bunk trailer. I'm hanging on to the boat and trailer, selling the engine. The boat needs some work before it will hit the water again and I'll re-power it at that time. We'll see once we've had a more detailed inspection. It's going to get a pretty thorough once over this winter.

Thanks for the welcome guys! I'm pretty excited to be working on this rig! My only other previous rig was the old family runabout. Me in the wetsuit circa 1982:  I restored the '71 Winner Cobra, ditched the '71 Evinrude 100 and hung a new Merc 125 on it. It was an education to restore and a lot of fun to drive, but seriously limited in terms of versatility. After the resto 2004:
