Can a 115 hp Fast Strike be made to perform on let say a 15' Allison or something similar? I have heard you can't get them to spin fast enough. I always like those motors since I jumped in my neighbour's bass boat with one on it, plus I had a 150 Fast Strike in 91 and I loved it. |

a 115 on a 15' allison would be a good combo.. the v4 motors aren't really a performance motor out of the box but can be built to run.. Dok has a neat little v4 project on the go.. |

Yes I followed that build, pretty amazing but the motor I'm talking about is the 60 degree looper Vee 4. Not much has been written about it, at least that I could find. |

The 60'degree engines are good engines but not good platforms for power head modifications. It would still be a good engine for a small Allison but keep it simple. Put a cone on it, maybe modified heads and leave it at that. Matt |

I thought being the lightest in its class it would make a great platform for the small Streams and Allison a like. When I thought about a build I was thinking finger ports, widen the exhaust ports a bit and take a bit off the heads. Will it self destruct or it doesn't respond well to mods? |

You can do reeds, Ficht cages, heads and the appropriate jetting changes without changing the motors excellent Temperament. Rev limiters can be addressed with different pack from CDI. However.... The 60 degree loopers are known for their very torquey nature and don't need or like to be revved to make good power.. to a point. With that in mind pick a bigger wheel, the eagle will pull it better than a (Bolt on mods) cross flow V4 at lower RPMS and just as well at WOT up to the limiter. found this post on s&f. |
