Opened the cottage on Saturday. We go in by boat. The water had been 18 inches to 24 inches above our dock and boathouse deck. Our 40 foot main crip dock had floated off the cripping and back 3 feet. That is ruined. In the boathouse one Critchfield had floated and was jammed against the side door so we couldn't get in the door. Lots of articles missing. Lucky the Panther and Charger were still in place and not hurt, but one race motor had been under water. We were lucky compared to others. Beautiful wood boats floated or sunk in their boathouses. Other boats were crushed when they floated and hit the roof of their boathouses. Others floated off their supports and are now resting on the prop side ways on the deck inside the boathouse. If the owner left the drain or water line open on their boat. The boat filled with water and damaged the motor. All the frig, water pressure pumps and washer and dryers in the boathouses are ruined. Lots of stuff floating in the Lake. One fellow hit a BBQ propane tank with his Ski boat on Sunday.

That sucks Don...I'm glad you didn't get hit too hard but I'm sure it's still not fun dealing with the cleanup and repair of what is damaged.

I've been looking forward to getting the boat wet after my move to Huntsville next weekend. Maybe I'll spend some time talking to the locals first!!!

really sorry to hear, tons of damage this year, marinas were having a hard time getting boats in the water, all the docks were under water and there was so much crap floating around, docks, trees, boats, BBQ TANKS etc.. iv only been on muskoka once and its still higher than normal, but seems to be lots of boats out now and not so much stuff floating,,

After being lower last weekend, the water rose 6 inches on the weekend. That put the boathouse decks under water again on the boathouse near us. Ours is still dry. We did a search along the shore looking for items lost.
I found one of the missing foot throttles, a race seat that I didn't realize was missing. Looked for the cut suits and their now missing. The wood wedges that were under the IO boat are both missing. Storing items in sealed plastics containers was not a good ideal. I had a stack on them 4 high and they have all floated off.
