Hey guys, I am looking to launch from Rivera Park in Lindsay and tour around some this summer around there. Are there boat friendly restaurants in Fenelon, Bobcaygeon, Peterborough, etc? Do I need to take any locks? Thanks |

All three are boat friendly but you will have locks to deal with. We eat at the hotel in Peterborough when we do the Rice Lake River Run...there's one lock...and Yammer usually bribes the guy to get us a deal lol. |

Fenelon and bobcaygeon both have places to tie up and multiple places to eat and grab a beer, no locks to deal with if you put in in Lindsay! |

There is a lock from Cameron to Sturgeon (Fenelon Falls), a lock from Sturgeon to Pigeon (Bobcaygeon), and another lock at Buckhorn and so on. So leaving from Lindsay you WILL have locks to deal with. Fenelon can be quite busy in the summer, same with Bobcaygeon. Mainstreet landing in Buckhorn is a good restaurant that over looks the locks and you can dock right in front of the patio, very easy docking. The Waters edge restaurant in Bobcaygeon is very easy to dock and the patio also over looks the dock, however it's mostly fine dining. |

I'm hoping to just do some fishing and some sunset cruises this summer....launching down the road from my girlfriend's house in Lindsay. I don't plan on really going past Fenelon or Bobcaygeon...maybe once each way. How about speed limits? |

Coming from Fenelon on Sturgeon is a speed zone for a while until your out on the open part of the lake, there is also a short speed zone in around the Bobcaygeon lock and leaving the channel going out to Pigeon. Nothing too crazy, I'm not sure what it's like coming out of Lindsay. |

I have poked around a bit in the area Buckhorn was a nice place to go. Lots of dock space, we picnic'ed but there was a resturant there. I don't know the area overly well but I do believe Buckhorn is at the other end of the run from Bobcaygeon. |

Lots of running on Buckhorn, Pigeon, Chemong, Big Bald and Little Bald. All connected and no locks. Restaurants in Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn. |

If you launch in Lindsay at the park you will be on the Sturgeon Lake level. Sturgeon is cornered by Fenlon Falls, Bobcaygeon and Lindsay. If you head to Fenlon or Bobcaygeon you will be mooring at the locks. Usually lots of space for a smaler boat. Both towns have almost any kind of food you would want. Plus a Timmies at each!! There is also the Egan Ridge golf course on the way to Bob, on the north side. That's if you want to get all fancy like!! |
