Does anyone here use or has used a mercury trophy plus ? and would you say its a good prop or not I am looking for genuine opinions of this prop as in is it a good bow lifter , what is it like for midrange, and what is it like on the holeshot. I am looking for a 13 3/4x 21 and have been told the trophy plus is a good bow lifter ( this could just be a sales pitch). I have never seen one of these props being used and not heard much about them until yesterday. I do know the hub needs to be shortened a fair bit as they are far too long as standard. Do these compare to a Omc Raker for bow lift ? etc .. |

Im not sure about the different Trophy models, or which one I used, but I had use of a 26 pitch for a while and really liked it. I'm told that Trophys are actually a little higher pitch that what they are called. IE - the 26 I tried was more like a 28. It had good all round behaviour. Nothing weird or unexpected. Came off of acceleration nicely, and cornered really good, with no cavitation or blow out. It did have a bit of a funny sound, but I mostly run over-hub props, so it could just be me. I would definitely check one out. But - you really do have to try it on your own boat. Don't take anyone's word on it without trying it. I would NEVER buy a prop without testing it first. Good luck. |

Oh ya - the bowlift. I can really say on that. I've always got too much bowlift, so they all work in that area for me. You might want to try a Solas Scorpion, if your looking for bow lift. They really worked well on my old Charger. There are a few folks that bought them after testing. http://www.getaprop.com/content-product ... rcury.html |

thanks wildcat, that's good to know I cant use a scorpion as I am only after a prop that is 14 diameter and below. scorpion I think is 15 diameter. its got to fit onto a omc 56 cu in large gearcase and 13 spline. |

does anyone know the exact size of the hubs of the trophy plus ? I need to know the hub size where it goes into the gearbox. mercury say it fits small hubs, that can mean anything. |

Hob OD is between 4 & 4 1/4". The large thru hub props are 4 1/2-4-4/8" in diameter. Hope that helps. |

I tried mercury got a silly answer, " fits small hubs " ? i will give them another try and ask for a technical paper on the prop if possible. |

well no answer from solas, mercury or power tech, ive also asked a few dealers on the uk and got no answer. Nobody wants to say exactly the size and if it would fit a omc triple. so that's one prop off my list. |
