So its not going to cause any corrosion too fast then. I wasn't sure if the stainless against the alloy would cause a anode type reaction and eat away at the alloy pretty fast. I think the alloy used will be of very low grade, as the top mount alloy casting is very poor quality. Although the bottom mounts were made by a different company for OMC so might be better quality alloy ?
the rubber part in between the alloy parts is terribly weak and soft. probably ok for a slow pleasure cruiser where the vibration would be more of a pain for passengers.
But what you say now makes sense, as its not nuts and bolts. I shall pin a old set of mounts and see how I get on. just got to set up the bench drill now and see what happens.
