As the title says does anybody know the torque settings for the OMC triple [70hp] 56ci engines, rod caps, head casing ect.
I'm building an engine and don't have the specs.
Any other things I should look out for while building the motor?

head bolts 20 ft lbs
rod bolts 30 ft lbs
flywheel nut 100 ft lbs

I have an old Seloc Manual for L3, V4, V6 OMCs here I've had for about 15 years or more. Comes in handy from time to time.

Great thanks for that its a great help.
Next question those motors have a 7 pin plug and socket for plugging the motor to the loom. I hacked away at the wiring and was unable to take not of what cable was what.
Does anybody know what each cable does?

be careful as the seloc manuals are total rubbish, far too many things wrong in those scrap books.
best to check with a genuine manual for torque specs.
and not all triples have the same spec.
there are different cranks different heads and even different blocks and all have different toque settings.
some of us don't even have to undo the head to change a thermostat on a triple !!!

aus racer has a totally different block to you reg. his block is the oval port.
