Have any of you guys done a re-sleeve yourself? How much interference is there on an old 2.6l yamaha?

I've done my 70hp and a V4...both were VERY easy to do. I'm not sure what you mean by interference?

Interference fit, how much bigger is the sleeve than the block. How warm did you get the block for installation?

I never measured...but 400F for about 15minutes on the BBQ and they pull out easily. I put the block on a cookie sheet to save the grill and let the block heat up as the BBQ heats up. On the V4 (which is exactly the same as the v6) the ports are not open to the back of the sleeve so I use a tool that is basically a flat screwdriver with a 90* tip to draw the sleeve up to the top of the casting (1/8") and then grab it with a pair of pliers to pull it out. You need lots of room to move and put hot shit down so be prepared. Also if the cylinder is damaged around the port watch for burrs on the sleeve that will dig into the block on the way out. That makes things not so smooth.

Oven works good also, better half may not like it so much. Thick leather welding gloves make the job easy. If they freeze before you get them into position just reheat. The interference on sleeves is about .002".
