Hey Everyone,

Just thought I would share my summer weekend ride since a few of you guys have been inquiring about it.

She's a 1987 18ft Charger DL, has been in the family since 87 and its an absolute blast to drive. She hooked up with a 1999 225 Evinrude Ficht that runs like a dream. Although a number of people have had a lot of trouble with this motor it seems to run like a top for me.....Probably because I drive it like I stole it, which is actually why these motors can last so long. (might be a myth tho)

Believe it or not she will do low-mid 80's(GPS), think I have a 26 or 28 inch stainless steel chopper prop on it. -Can't remember
Disconnected the foot throttle because it was acting kinda funky a while back, so all I have is the trim controls on my steering wheel and the actual throttle now. The 80's Chargers had a fantastic hull, wish the company didn't go under back in the 90's. you can be doing 70-85mph and there is hardly any chime walking going on. Enjoyable boat to drive.

Also I have uploaded the pictures to a google drive so you guys can check it out. Couldn't seem to figure out how to upload them on here. Oh well.... Enjoy!!

Anyone else have a charger from this year?

Thanks guys, all the best!

sweet rig, i have a 16 dl with a 2.4l 200 it runs about 70. lots of members have chargers and probably 90% of the members have either owned or have had experience with the dl sk etc..

you can still buy a new charger today from Tempest marine in Caledon ON. https://www.tempestboats.ca/charger

I have a Charger SK with 200 GT and so far will do 73 MPH with 27" SRX, extremely easy to drive.

Are the new Chargers from Tempest boats any good? I heard awful things from other companies in the mid 90's that tried to replicate the originals.

Not sure, not totally setup yet to reach max, no gauges.
A friend of mine is in West Bay on Chandos with this one, its a 85.
I make windshields for 18 and 16 DL Chargers.
