I'm running the same numbers he is... I bought a motor who's case has a skeg made of butter. Apparently it's legit that a skeg will crack during a 5 min. test run.. But lived for 8 years on a tunnell boat with no problems.

How do you know it was fine though for 8 years on a tunnel?

It clearly had a pre-existing condition...

I guess one would say it is suspect. The irony is that the seller has two threads right now on another site where they feel they were wronged and are looking for financial assistance for lack of a better term. I have no proof... All i can do is whine and speak of common sense.

I am with Dok on the pre-existing condition. As for people the average person is always looking to come out on top somehow. Unfortunately the others than get screwed from time to time. It is basically unavoidable. The guy wouldn't even give you the time time of day if you approached him and even just asked so you know....

Wouldn't ever want to lose a skeg, a prop shaft or a gear at any real speed :o
I purchased a prop from lepingtiger, that 4 blade Hoss 32", it makes a good #, 102 mph with 3 of us in the boat on flat water :D . I call it the family prop. She dances from one side or the pad to the other a little too much by my self @ 102 mph and that is where I ran out of balls ... The cleaver "The Advantage" on the other hand , ran 104 mph with 2 of us in the boat. Would like to try a 32" pro et or a Blaster.

I have popped out of gear, had all the paint fall off my gearcase like a barn door covering the prop, and blown out from poor set up... All in the mid 90's. Alarming, but nothing too crazy. You would have to do something pretty stupid in a Triad or SRV to hook badly or go over I think.

(ps... I am not bragging... Just my observations.)
