Hi there!
I'm new to this site and am hoping to get some advice for a voodoo that I purchased in the fall for my son. It has an 1972 50hp johnson electric on it now but I purchased a 1991 40hp evinrude with power trim for it and will be installing it this spring.
Any advice on mounting hight and what size of propeller to use would be much appreciated.
The motor did not come with a prop and the prop from the 50hp wont fit.
Thanks. :)

Cool...GREAT boat to learn how to drive in. To start I would think you're going to want the motor up 2-3 holes on the transom...for propping I'm not good with the OMC stuff...but a small thru-hub stainless with some cupping will get him started...

DoktorC, thanks for the reply. Any idea on what pitch and size of prop to use.
We're looking forward to getting this up and running on the lake.

Your 40 will have the small 3.5" diameter nitro lower unit. I imagine you could find a stock aluminum or stainless through hub prop up to 19" of pitch. Maybe you could take it in and get it repitched and cupped? You really need about 21-23" of pitch to see the boat perform at its full potential. An over hub stainless 23" OMC cleaver would be ideal, but they are expensive and hard to find!! :x

What gear ratio are those things?? That seems like a lot of prop for a 40hp
