Power trim
... In 2012 you saw NO celled boats in UIM T and in 2012 they allow power trim on non celled boats. We were just a year head of dropping cells and we always had the power trim rule because it was on the FV boats that made up the class....
2012 UIM Rulebook, pages 296, Rule 553.01, Mono Hull rules section (T Classes) quote:

The use of powertrim is allowed for monohull boats provided with safety reinforced cockpit, per rule 509.
(509 is details on a safety cell and straping the driver in)
You don't have to follow the UIM rules... countries are allowed to adjust to suit their region. I'm just saying in 2012 no UIM T class permitted trim without a safety cell. Maybe you are reading RYA rules or something? I've not read them. Thanks Andrew, that is interesting for sure. I
did communicated with the T racers in England a while back.
They told me they were going to change the rule to allow non-celled boats to run power trim. They also indicated they were going to allow a 90 hp 69
cubic inch motor in theT850 class. It could race, but not get any points. I assumed their relationship with UIM was the same as ours with CBF.
They would have to do a formal UIM rule change same as we do with CBF. That was why I made the statement in the post.
The UIM race clubs obviously have more flexibility over there and more say in what they do. I think we should bring this fact up at the CBF Convention.
Interested people on this site say CBF is too constructed and complex. Maybe we can convince CBF to loosen things up a bit.
What do you think?
