I took a chance and bought this because they are so cheap compared to real data acquisition computers... it's really cool, but after trying out a few times, not suited to my use (serious racing data logging). It is AWESOME for recreational use or as a fun gizmo, or maybe other less serious racers? I'd guess it's seen less than 2 hours light use as I tried it out a few times with different settings and such and still has screen protector on.
My issue is that it records once a second. I need something more like every 1/10 a second. I would keep otherwise. Once a second is likely fine for most uses. And the display is instant updating... it's just the recording feature that is once a second. And for video overlay (mentioned below) the software interpolates to make the gauges and maps run smooth. Pretty trick really.
Awesome for sleds, bikes, boats, those ATV truck/buggy things/adventure riding, supermoto bike conversions, etc...
can easily be moved from vehicle to vehicle.
Comes with:
A couple different mounts for snowmobiles that will work on many things or you can order specific mounts for many types of vehicles.
22mm rad hose engine temp sensor (others available)
A threaded water temp sensor
Cylinder head temp gauge
RPM sensor
ambient air temp sensor
altitude sensor
GPS tracking/mapping
runs off internal battery and/or 12v supply from vehicle and in waterproof.
More details here, does an amazing amount of stuff really. It's cool which is why I took the chance on it for racing.
http://www.highcommanddistributing.com/ ... 2-5000.htmYou can take the log files saved to MIcroSD card (included) and input them into free RaceRender software and overlay with video from your gopro with track mapping and such... pretty cool! There is a file on my youtube I made for example. I don't have link handy (can't view youtube from work), my username is andrew4ce. Also comes with software to work with google maps and show where you went.
Looking for $285.
