The new owner is John Carruthers and my son Steven. They got a 40hp voodoo from Kevin, last fall .
I will try to answer some of their questions.
-What is the boat?
The boat is a Baker ssv and not a Rapid craft cyclone. It was built in Florida. Baker Marine had the original SSV's built in Florida and later contracted Rapid Criaft to built some more boats. Rapid Craft called their boat the Cyclone. Same molds different builder. The Rapid Craft is lighter.
- Should I put a 160 lb head on?
I would not. 49's work well at 145 to 150 compression.
- the boat only has forward. The gear lever under the cowl is tie wrapped forward and I thought I read that t-boats must have reverse?
You can run with no reverse gear. Most have reverse, but, lock the motor in forward, start in gear to save the lower unit.
-The boat appears a little rough in some areas. There is a fair amount of paint missing from the bottom and am not sure what to use to fix this so it does not come off. Steve H told me to put some sort of coating that farmers use in grain silos but I didn't understand.
I can't answer this one. Can someone else help?
- I will also need a prop and am guessing maybe a 12x22 cleaver.
Perfect starting point.

John and Steve welcome to the T Boat group.
Don

If not mistaken, John & son Stephen on 6ML...close to Elsey's. We now have 4-5 15-17yo newbie youth T drivers on 6ML, not to mention Ryan S just took delivery of 56 ci for his new era vDoo. Wow:D

Steve and John sold to John and Steve? Funny :)

6ML... what's in the water there? You guys should start posting property deals there... take over the whole place. Private race track.

sliplate.com is used in gravity feeders to stop the grain from sticking. It is a dry graphite lubricant that when applied and fine steel wool polished provide a very slippery surface, better than vc 17
