First off, thanks to everyone for the advice.

I called Top Gun (Paul) and he said he could either set me up with the parts I need for around $150 or I could trade my motor in as is for $1000. He has a bunch of engines in line to be rebuilt that I could choose from. The hard part will be convincing him to do it now rather than in the winter.

The mechanics here at work (The Cove) are top notch, but its hard to convince them to stay after hours when they put in 10-13hr days already all week long, especially for such a big job.

That Vector is out of the question, I called the guy and he said it definitely needs a recore. He had quotes of $1,800 and $3,000 to get the job done professionally. I'm just not ready to spend that much right now.

Boomer - I would LOVE to run an e-tec! Doesn't look like they get run very often on these forums but I really do like them (is the salesman in me showing through yet?).

Not sure it's available for sale. We didn't really investigate what was wrong with it. What is it worth with low compression?

well do i have a deal for you ;) since you work at the cove , and probably have access to parts and technology far beyond me,,take my blown 2000 evinrude 200 and find me a yamaha, ;) or 10.. :lol:
