The deal is that this motor is a regular Merc 200...that happens to have 2.5L of displacement....so the cowl is worthless, the case might be $1k, powerhead may reach 1500 if its mint....but it's a slobbery old merc soo..., clamp and trim might get you $500 if you found someone who needed one. A mint Yamaha 200 from that time period I'd sell for $3500...a less than mint one around $2500....same price as a 90 lol...or a Stinger

could i get my 91 2.5l rebuilt run it for a day on my baja then flip it and get my money back,. it came to me on my valero so it was pretty well free to me.,..some people have told me the rebuild will be more then what its worth and i have a hard time believing it,,

If you DIY it you'll get you're money back no problem...if you pay...you won't.
