So I had the Charger out on the lake yesterday, and as I got it up to speed it started to do a pretty good chine walk on me. I've experienced it before, but this time I tried something I read about online to try to correct it, I pulsed the wheel to the left while the boat was dipping to starboard it and it worked, briefly. The water had a small chop and there was a little wind but all in all pretty smooth. It seems to do it only around 70 and up, otherwise it feels super solid.

The boat has a 200 Merc black max on a manual CMC jack plate running a 25p laser 2 stainless prop, and I guess my questions are is there something wrong with the height setup of the jack plate, are these hulls prone to chine walking, or is there anything else I can do to help stop/prevent the boat from doing this so I can keep my shorts clean and enjoy this thing at 75+

Balance, setup and seat time......

Experience (seat time) is the only real cure. My SS 'Winder is horrendous for chine walk, anything over 55 mph is just hairy. That's one of the main reasons I bought my SK. I found on the Winder that raising the motor did help some, but it's still a crazy boat to drive. My SK only gets to 60 so far (140 Evi Looper), and I have a power jack on it. Raising the motor on it brings in a whole bunch of torque steer. I haven't hit chine walk with it yet, still looking for more power.

C'mon up and run my Winder for a day. It'll teach you all you don't want to know about the "pucker factor", and you'll go home and hug the SK.

lots of things to consider, but seat time can't be understated. Give it a few weeks and few changes of underpants, and you'll be getting the hang of it.

Howz your steering? Is it loose? That would be the first thing I would check. If its loose - it will be a scary experience for sure.
