I was there on Saturday. Here are a some observations.
- the quality of the T Boats is EXCELLENT! Their all good looking boats.
- the speed of the T750 boats with 3 similar boats is was close and their FAST!
- the boys were not that sharp on the clock. I guess they we taking it easy.
- the Allison is quick on the straights.
- the competition is close, but experience driving and set up wins!
- the floatation measurements proved correct. I think? Dave must use in and out automatic stops on his trim.
The trim angle was too far out for those conditions and that caused the blow over.
- Both Jake's and Todd's boats being heavy actually helps them stick in the rough water. Neither boat had problems.
- the Mercury held it's own on the short course.
- START IS EVERYTHING..boats in the pack had trouble moving up.
- You need a 21 or 22 pitch on that course!
- Todd's motor passed inspection
TOP GUNN WORKED HIS A>> OFF! Thanks Paul.

Great time as always and a BIG thanks to all involved. I wouldn't think my motor passing would be news or highlights though...

Todd it is in the highlights because it is the first time we did the compression test inspection of any motor to my knowledge at a race.

Don's comment simply reaffirms his mantra, winning is about a good start, driving skill, set up, and propped right, which the Hydromotive Team demonstrates over and over again. Eventually, we're gonna have to give u a handicap:). Great racing!

YEP, dead on. When we do our NASCAR 12 boat, 3 across start. 10 laps, DASH FOR THE CASH RACE "NO POINTS" guess who is in the last row. The problem is who else do we put back there with him, The rest of the field is so close. Got to get THE GUN back in the T field and likely Hooper and maybe the Six Mile Trophy winner. We know DOC wants the pole. Damn, if Jake and Craig are near the front the tale enders may never catch them. Then we got the mystery boats Jason, OMC converted Mike, Zonka, Doug and Don. John and Kevin are quick enough to win. Erik is just sand bagging, no way that VooDoo hands that poorly. Dave could just blow by everyone. Rusty is rumoured to be coming with a new Allison OMC instead of the Mercury Critchfield. So many combinations and all of them GOOD!

Here is some feedback from the T850 racers as to their performance.
First guys, stop thinking MPH and think ET. The boat with the higher mph is NOT always the faster boat.

Here is what I saw at Waterford.
Jakes 49 Critchfield....It is an excellent set-up. The boat has good punch out of the turns and gains speed all the way down the long straight. That is a good as you can get. The course is not the best for a 49 because of the short straights in the tri angle. Jake appeared to take a wider line around the course to keep the speed up. He knows the 56 is going to have more punch out of the turns.

Todd's 56....Todd is good on the clock and knows exactly what the boat will do, He is all about acceleration. When following Jake you could see him take advantage of the inside line and the torque of the 56 motor. He made the gains in the short straights. On the long straight he would gain until half way and then the speeds were very close.

Here is a good example of MPH.
We had 2 Allisons with 56 motors.
[1] Craig's SST 60 block
[2] Dave's 56 fishing motor
Craig's boat is 69 mph
Dave is 67 mph.
Because there is a top speed difference of 2 to 3 mph doesn't automatically mean that Craig can beat Dave. We have had this motor comparison before. It is NOT MPH. It is the time it takes for you to get to that speed. Dave's boat may get to 66 mph faster than Craigs. If so then Craig is behind Dave and may catch him at the very end of a long straight.
Don't focus and making changes to try and get more top end. Focus on driving. The boats are 2 to 2.5 mph faster this year. We will not see a 63 mph boat win with good water conditions. IF your running 65 MPH and get a good start, drive well. You we be top 3 every time.
