Interesting history of the T type V hulls since the 1990’s.
APBA needed a V class in OPC to replace EP class which was very similar to T850.
The first class was called SSV...super stock V hull.....it mostly raced SST 60 and Yamaha 90 outboards...boats were critchfields/ safety celled boats.

The class later became Formula V...the 3 mile 3 lap speed record was held by Steve Cooler with a Yamaha outboard....the record in 1999 was 64.2 mph.
Steve sold that boat to the fellow running it in the video above.

Our CBF EP class had a 1 Mile course record in 1991 and 1992 of approximately 61-62 mph shared by Paul K and Todd C both running a 650XS mercury.

In 2006 we started T850 class in Ontario Canada. Initially it was the same as our former EP/Formula V. Paul K returned to race a 650XS to the championship one year and we had multiple race and championship winners in the years that followed.
The 56 cubic inch OMC was the new entry into the class. It gradually emerged as the dominant motor in the class after 2012.

The performance has increased to where we have boats capable of 80 mph.

Well there is a special group of performance boaters who have the 100 mph club.

Next year we will start the Super T club.....that’s for boats over 80 mph on GPS for T850.
How about 65 mph for the T750’s.

Certainly a sign that interest is returning to our sport.
Hopefully there will be more memberships and more threads and posts by others.
