To all racers or possible racers.
It is a requirement to be a TORC Member in order to race.
After Feburary 1 2016 the cost of the membership will double so I suggest you get your membership taken care of now to save you money.
Please see the TORC website for details
http://www.torc.ca/forms.html

Cheers

Jeff, that is a brief statement and not much info in the link other than forms.

This would be a good place to inform everyone exactly what is required to compete.

CBF and TORC membership requirements and day or weekend racing dues.

There are more perks and lower fees for early registration too.

Just to be clear as there are new people and from different areas... it is not and never has been a requirement to be a TORC member. It is a requirement to be a member of a CBF or APBA club depending on who's card you race under. TORC is a member club of CBF and APBA. But there are other CBF clubs. It's $125 to start a club in CBF. It's baffled me for years why some racers, either by group, interest, or geographic region, have not started their own club to drum up more interest and more racers. Many racers are members of more than one club. A club doesn't have to hold a race... can just be a club. However I'm sure TORC welcomes your dollars as the most active club.

Wow..... I don't really understand this post???? Why would TORC not want all outboard racing under one flag . Along with the Membership dues and sponsorship Dollars that go along with it?????? Together we are much stronger than when we are split.

Along with that we should be supporting the club that supported US and helped us get up and running as a Class. I would not support a separate Club for Drag only. Its not good for stock, T , or Drag to dilute the membership Dues.

Sounds good... I'm not TORC, I'm just stating "It's not a requirement to belong to TORC" It's not in the rulebook to belong to TORC. It is a requirement to belong to a club. Person can join any club they want and more than one.

As I said, I'm sure TORC welcomes the memberships.

I know Andrew. I am not trying to start anything either. I just want to make sure that Dues get paid and everyone is a Club member and CBF/APBA Member.

To add, I would guess about 30% of Stock racers belong to more than one club. Not sure about the other categories. Yes strength is in numbers, you can be more than one number.

Andrew, although accurately citing rule book fact, i am mystified to understand rationale to raise this point here, when & where Drag Reps are pro-actively encouraging 2016 TORC/CBF membership. What am I missing?....A boat racing enthusiast club that does not race,...possible, but really just another Ladies Tea Club, Wood Whittler's Club...they inevitably each incur operating costs better directed to support a single club, TORC. It has been challenging enough to encourage and collect TORC member dues, let alone track which other club members are current with their separate club, and then to convince that club to share pro-rata in TORC seasonal operating costs, like pulling teeth.

So, like Jason, I'm of the mind to strengthen & improve TORC house, not encourage an outhouse to go up next door.
To keep it simple (for Drag guys): If a Drag racer must pinch a loaf bad enough(eg: an itch to race), you know, he's got dancing feet with turtle poking its head, it'll take a second to convince him TORC has only toilet for miles, gold leaf TP, but insist he leave a quarter on the tank. Guaranteed, he'll leave a Loonie with a grin. On way out offer him a $0.10 cup of awful coffee, safe travels, he'll shake your hand & name first born after you,...F'n Shit Saver Guy,..whatever.
Quiet lies I can live with to achieve contentment & enriched experience for all; although,....yes,...per rule book he could have just shit his pants, called it his own club, seek similar interested parties, etc....
Trying to be helpful,

Wily Wood Whittler:)

Very interesting analogy Hydroid, as always, you're quite the word smith (and whitler of wood).
That being said, ride shotgun with one of the drag guys sometime, you might just shit your pants and join the club.

Too funny guy's...

The point of my little post after Jeff's was to make things easy for new guys to know what has to be done to join in and race.

The category doesn't enter this question does it?

Jeff was simply trying to inform everyone of a deadline and i asked for more information.

Is there anyone here that can answer this without bringing up any personal opinions?

Simple question really.

Thanks Deano.
