Ok, according to my trailer numbers it weighs 550 lbs.

I can loose roughly 150 lbs of dead weight from the boat lol and Kenny, you can't even joke about the driver cause i don't weigh that much

Hoo Haw, bet i can get close to or right on 1550...

Don' know how your going to pull 150 lbs. out of that boat just yet but I hope you explain :geek: . Bmax I would never make a joke about a adult that can't get on the rides at Wonderland :? Your son told me that, silly kids

On a serious note and back on topic... In the proposed Lake Racer rules that Jeff posted, you meant Min. 15" mid right.

No. . As long as the min weight is met it really doesn't matter what length your mid section is as long as it is fully shiftable

I have one of those long ones, kind of a pain in the ass some times. It dangles too far into the water when you're loaded on the porcelain trailer letting out exhaust gasses....

Kenny, you were right on with not a hope in hell i am gonna pull 150lbs out of my boat. And that is just a close guess.

I can see the writing on the wall already, a Rocket or an Ally purpose built with a twelve inch mid that has to add weight and limited to 150psi is still gonna kill us.

Here is a simple question, how many of you guy's not involved in racing are running a twelve inch mid just for fun?

Twelves, shiftable or not don't belong in this class.

All good commentary.
The 12" rule was added so that it could increase the boat count and if all the boats had to weigh the same then who cares what mid is on it ??

All just thoughts here. . . But - people don't want to add weight it seems -

If there's no give and take the same boat type will win each and every time and that is not ideal.

:( It seems that I don't have a snowballs chance in hell as it is and by allowing 12"mids may increase the boat count slightly but it's not playing by anyone's Lake Racers rules. If anything I think that the 12" mid rule will discourage some of us and definitely any new lake racer type boats that we have in our area.

Well ok Baloney Island Lake Racer class does allow 12"mid and custom cut downs ...

What performance gain does it truly give you besides loosing the weight ? It's been proven many times in the past . I'm confused here. A mid section does not mean a boat is the fastest boat out there. If Jason has his boat let's say weigh in at 1550 and Roger has a STV RR with a 12" but exact same motor and weighs in at 1550 ----- you think that a 12" wins by default ?

That's makes every Honda with a big wing on the back beat my 8 second standard looking mustang in a drag race doesn't it ? Of course not !

This was written right from the start and it's your rules as racers so do what you want. I know that it wouldn't matter to me as long as they all weighed the same and had similar engine rules .

It's your rules gents. . . but a mid section does not make a fast boat. A mid section makes a fast boat weigh less but when you have to weigh the same then it wouldn't matter to me. :)
