I want nothing more than to race... Unfortunately the word race gives my wife a panic attack. I like the idea of having a home and boat and not living in my mom's basement... So... No racing for me. I'm allll TALK!

WRONG!!!
WRONG!!!
WRONG!!!
When was the last time you went for a "fast pass" with all your safety gear on, a rescue boat and medics on standby??
If your better half is concerned, have her talk to the better halves of those of us who just came back from Jasper. Jackie, Steph and Nancy can all attest to the controlled environment in which we race.

Mitch, I went through the same thing with my family and it is certainly not an easy argument.
However facts are facts and our type of 800' racing is simply safer then any of the lake racing/riding we do.
It is worth the bout!
I get more freaked out now running at the cottage then at the races.

Bring her to an event before you race if need be.
Those T boat things on the other hand are nucking FUTS!

Racing is far safer then running fast on your own. As mentioned with all the safety at a race it's actually safer.
It's these questions and concerns we need to clarify for sure. Hope to see you out there Mitchie

You guys are preaching to the choir.... But for your information... I made the mistake once of telling her it's safer than the lake running we do. How do you think that went over.? Trust me. Once bitten. :)

Jason, so I think the plan is a 2.6 225 hp motor for the Valero and it being 18ft what class would that be?
