Another 2 boat T teams. We know Erik planned to test at Six Mile this weekend. I hope it tells use how it went.
Now who races which boat?

Bit of background:
Returning from 2 wks in Cape Breton, picked up Jr 4pm last Tuesday at Pearson. Told him to haul ass to car, appointment w RD in 45min. Knowing RD's boat 4 sale, he almost had kittens in car. Told him to shut pie hole school girl yammering, hold on, gotta make time, Cannonball Run down 427, play it cool there.
Met w RD at 5pm, shook hands 1hr later.

RD's Critch: well rigged, EVERYTHING solid, time & thought in this rig. I also know previous owner, a details guy. Cliché: Too many options to list.

A Fralick quote when I started ASH racing:
‘ I will share everything with you, tech spec, driving technique, etc…I want to beat you on race course, not in pits.”

Hot off the press:
Hull: Solid, Scythes bottom immaculate/strong, multiple glass weave layup inside, can take beating. READY?...630lb. YEAH! I LIKE my girls MEATY, BEATY, BiG and BOUNCY!!...
Steering: 7” hub, quick release whl, 3trim up/dn buttons(ea spoke), steers w 2 fingers. Big hub & wide wings permit micro adjustment.
Engine: Stock bore, stock jets, large carbs, fuel pump not vacuum. Comp: T: 158, M: 155, B: 157. It purrs, suueeet sound. Can hear stock metal reeds clacking against solid stops when decelerating quickly.
Trim: Through hull ram, 3” setback j/plate.

Testing at 6ML:
After 20min, I restricted Kris to 500m oval type straights, turn left, repeat. No more kilo runs, wasting fuel, just wearing parts with 2km runs. Tach data essential.
Our speed/RPM on oval:
23"x11.5": 68+/6400 good acceltn - lake/long course prop
22"x11.5": 66+/6700-800 great acceltn - racing prop.
Played w gearcase/propshaft height a bit, increased V/nose dropping deeper in turns to track better, minimized side to side rocking/bouncing, holds better.
Working on lap times not top speed; must carry speed through corners, optimize average speed over distance.

Flies like an arrow, high, dry, on pad, 1.5-2' roost at WOT. I drove a bit, deferred testing to Kris, 2hrs wheel time. More time req'd but Kris is getting this down driving from his ASS.
Cautioned him to be frugal w trim. We’ll install trim gauge for quick glance adjustment. Some lean on trim button too long/high, lose thrust/acceleration, control at WOT, risk over rev'g.

Shot lots of HD video yesterday, Kris will post over coming days.
Havin' FUN!

Cheers

PS: Hmm, might name Critch: Meaty-Beaty; the Doo: Big & Bouncy.

This boat is an excellent example of a T boat.
Ryley hurt his SST 60 powerhead when he flipped at Gravenhurst in 2011. The video is on Youtube.
He was in the process of building a new motor and just wanted to use the boat as a fun lake boat.
The power head on that boat was a never touched 56'r. All Ryley did was put a 28.5 CC head on it. To gain it the compression readings shown.
NOTHING ELSE was done. No two stage reads, no larger jets, no timing change.
Look at the performance.

Money was spent on the setup, the boat and the prop selections.
Freshen this motor, add reeds, jets and maybe a bit of timing.
PERFECT combo.
