Coulter and I have been talking about this for a while. I'd love to convert one of my Enticer 250's to race on the ice. I think it would be a hoot...and probably not fast enough for me to die lol.

That gpx would be sweet....quit holding out on us Don!! Get some pics of that bad boy!

Yup, anybody that comes across an Enticer 250 for a reasonable price drop me a note. I don't think the little citation has enough to keep up with that Cole guy.

I got the Yamaha GPX 433 new 1975??. I had a yamaha 433 SS prior to that 1971??. I had MANY brothers in law all with Ski-doos when I showed up with the 433 SS they couldn't catch it. It pissed them off. One brother in law's dad owned Green's Yamaha in Heathcote. They got big in racing and were the largest yamaha snowmobile dealer in Canada for a few years. The GPX was terrible on the trails but crazy fast on the roads and lakes. We did lots of trail riding so I got a 440 Puma A. Cat for trail riding. I changed the gear ratio and filled the track with cat feet. The machine only ran 60 mph but got there very quickly and the traction was so good you could stop on a steep hill help push the Ski-doos out and jump back on the Cat and continue driving up the hill.
My one brother in was good enough to store my snowmobiles free for years so I gave both machines to him when I stopped riding.

The vintage stuff has gone NUTS in the last 5 years. I remember having to basically give away my 78 340 RV and now guys are climbing over each other to get one lol. The enticers at least have utility...you can run one around the fields and they always get you home. The majority of the cool vintage stuff is just to make your garage prettier lol. I'd love to have a GPX and a 440 Exciter/STX.....and a 300 Enticer so I have one of each lol.

Yeah, a few buddies are into it, they have big $$$ into their sleds. The factory race sleds are very cool and bookoo bucks.

LOL......you guys are funny, so am I for that matter lol. Yes the Enticer 250, look for a 1980 or 1981, they are black and have orange, red multicolor decals. If the color of the sled has been changed you can tell an 80 and 81 motor from 77-79 motors by the clutch. The 80-81 stock clutch has more body and 4 open deer paws on the cover. These engines are desired for CDI and 30mm taper clutch, use a Polaris P85 and go to a polaris or arctic cat secondary, you lose a lot of HP from the stock clutch system because of frictional losses, the polaris and arctic cat are roller clutches. Do the mikuni carb conversion, I use a mikuni tms 38 flatslide on mine which isn't legal for racing, have to use the round slide. Guys are using a 34mm or 38mm, both work well, the 34 more air velocity the 38 more air and fuel lower velocity. On a 250cc motor 38mm is the max, I used the formula to figure it out. There are several heads that fit on the 250 motor from other motors to increase compression. Now you may also want to look at the very competitive 292 class. Single cylinder fan engine approaching 70HP! Check those outfits out! Videos on youtube, vintage yamaha site good for info. I have a contact in michigan for anyone wanting to know more info about the 292, several engine variations and potential race combinations, Snojet 295 used the same Yamaha motor. Some fun stuff for sure while waiting to get your summer fix! LOL........
