I am not sure if this got posted on the site already..Does not hurt to show it again!

Just a reminder there is a TORC meeting this Saturday April 14. 9 am until about noon at the THSC club house.

This will be the last meeting for the winter season. There many updates from the executive and club members. If you have an agenda item, please forward it to Will Hunter or Jordan Elliott.

TORC UP-DATES FROM APRIL 14th MEETING
Good turn out to-day...Meeting started at 9 am and finished at noon.
All 4 races planned for this summer are on schedule. Gravenhurst and Dunnville organizers have added more to the events which will make them better than last year. The Thunder Cats will have a very small turn out at Waterford because of an APBA race on the same weekend. They will have some boats there for testing. The Beaver Lake race is run by the Ottawa Club and unlike last year their plan is well underway. Ottawa Club would like the Drag Boats and T boats there as well. They will have a set time schedule with Drags or T's first each day. The T's will be there, the drags have not yet committed to the event. The complete street will be blocked off in Dunnville this year. This will improve the launch of Drags and T's. The new digital clock is close to being shipped. The pictures of the clock were very impressive.
There were no Drag racers at the meeting. The TORC executive had heard from some of them and believe they have people and a plan for this year.
There will be a welcome addition to Gravenhurst. During two of the 15 minute safety boat breaks in the program, there will be classic outboard hydro's and runabouts doing fly bys. There will also be a large display of both classic outboard and inboard race boats. To allow the extra space at the race site there will be no camping on site this year at Gravenhurst. Last...The officials didn't have the money to get professional shirts to start the season. Rather than wait until they collected the money I gave them the money up front.

i know i will get hung out to dry for this but damn shouldn't we be looking ahead trying to get new drivers involved (here will be classic outboard hydro's and runabouts doing fly bys) or can you buy one of these easily?

Todd, it is all part of developing interest in all age groups. There is a lot of interest in those boats and they show the history of the sport. Many dads and grand dads played with or watched those boats. Even more important is the race schedule of the day. It gives the TORC safety group a break and we still have a show going on. That part of the show is run by another group. We are doing the same with the Sea Flea group. We know that racers come from that group, so we work with them on their events.

TORC did put aside $400 for new driver use/incentives/promotion/ideas... they requested ideas from the floor on what to do with it. No one replied. They will not spend it until an idea worthy comes forward. If anyone has ideas, let the club know.

The Vintage thing came about because a member was on hand who volunteered the idea, to do the work, to arrange getting the vintage participants there, to arrange their own rescue and flaggers. TORC would likely never say no to any idea where someone offers to do all the work that adds to a program without actually adding much time. It will add nicely to the 60th anniversary celebrations.

I'm guessing there is still an unused turn boat break still if anyone has other ideas for filler, but you'd have to check with Jordan.
