Just an FYI... Seaway Marine stated today they have no plan to make all the parts required to make a new SST60, this is not possible to their knowledge.

You could buy a new 70yamaha...last year of real production was 2010/2011 but there are still new ones at the dealer level. With a cut head and a gearcase mod it's competitive. T850 is like any/most of the stock outboard classes...the new 2-strokes are dead....there's no new A's, 25's, D's...we'll have to make due with old junk if we want to race these classes. A new 4stroke 70 is almost $10k so I doubt you'll see many new motors in T even if you could buy one.

Interesting since they list all of the parts in their current parts book.

If you mean the parts list manuals PDF's on their site... they are just copies of the original OMC product owners manual parts list. They came with the motor when bought new. I reference them all the time for my 15A race motor.

If you look, it was printed in 1990...

Anyone with these motors... this is a valuable resource:

1990 was the last version of the parts book. Seaway left the part numbers the same. If the part number was still available then they would send you the lastest part number. If it was a special part then Seaway reproduced the part using the original tooling. Some of the parts were never or hardly every ordered, so they have let the stock drop to zero. It is not worth remaking the part. That explains their comment. The T motor uses mostly replacement parts which are still available from your local dealer. The key components are NEW at Seaway, the block, crank, pistons, mid, motor mounts, gear case, the tuner, water tube and cowl parts.
Most T OMC racers do not use the SST 60 block they use the fishing block and you can buy it new from the dealer.

Huh? You can buy a brand new 2012/2013 engine delivered to you door for all the Stock Outboard classes legal and competitive, for now and in forseable future. A few Modified classes have brand new motors too. All are documented EPA exempt 2-strokes and made currently. Operators are standing by... haha.

Edit: fixed typo: execpt to exempt

I did forget the sidewinder (and didn't realize they made a bigger one for 25ss)...and you can buy a new Yamaha Pro50 for the 750 classes. I would guess that cost is then the deciding factor given the lack of new product we see on the race course...or they aren't competitive yet.

Is the Merc 15 a US only motor? I don't can only buy the F4 60hp (I realize I could go cross boarder....and would never buy a merc....but I don't see it on Mercnet lol)
