The guy's boat is going to look like the starting gate at a harness race!

Questions and Answers
[3] Is Scott Whittington looking for a 15 foot Viper when he is is Florida?

[3] Scott is going to Florida. I haven't found a SUITABLE [good and realistic priced] Viper or a 15R Allison yet for him to go and look at. We will let you know. I do want to see a 15 footer in T850.

Now this was one I liked. I thought of running a 75 hp Chysler stacker and let LC drive it.

Question and Answer
I just read your post on the video thread that your SST 60 wins one heat and blew up the next. What happen? Did you learn from it. Any advise to keep my T motor from blowing up.

I learned that I should have followed my own advice! Never enter race unless you are totally prepared for that race! We had been running in the APR Superleague and had just won Pittsburgh in SST 60. To win in that series your MUST have a 10 powerhead. 10 means perfect! We only had one 10 powerhead and one 9 powerhead which was tired. CBF wanted us to race at Belwoods. I said we couldn't because I was in the process of rebuilding our powerheads. They talked me into running Sunday. I put the tired 9 powerhead on the boat. I only had 40 second lap props and this was a 50 plus second course. We were a rocket off the dock, but the motor was turning over 8500 on the long straights. We win the first heat and blew up in the second. Ruined the block! Being STUPID!! was all I learned.

Question and Answer
Why did you stop racing in APR. when you had so much success including winning the Worlds in 2008? Do you still have all your equipment?

We have stopped racing in APR. because of TIME! and money. APR is an interesting series to race. When there is a full field of 16 to 20 boats, there is a wide difference in the performance of the boats. There are the top 4 very fast boats where in most cases lots of money spent. The middle group and the slow pokes that are there either for the fun or are just not competitive. The slow boats will get lapped twice in 20 laps of racing. If your good you can run top 7 or 8. To get top 3 when all the big boys are entered is tough. APR changed their prize money structure. We use to race and break even if you ran top 5. You need to run top 2 to do that now. TIME is just as important. In that series we race to win! It is a wonderful feeling beating all the high dollar teams with a father and son team. BEING PREPARED takes a lot of time. I do all the preparation. Jim drives and looks cool! We still have all our equipment. I would like to go back to APR at some point. But I will not go unless we are in a position that we could WIN!
