It is interesting how the FV APBA speeds changed as the class changed it's rules. Formula V 3 Mile/3 Lap Closed Course APBA 64.047 5/16/1999 Lake Alfred, FL Chupacabras Ron Titus Critchfield Evinrude 3 Mile/4 Lap Closed Course APBA 56.639 4/18/1998 Hazelhurst, GA Chupacabras Ron Titus Critchfield Evinrude 5 Mile/3 Lap Closed Course APBA 70.561 3/28/1999 Lakeland, FL Chupacabras Ron Titus Critchfield Evinrude 5 Mile/4 Lap Closed Course APBA 68.519 10/9/1999 Lake Alfred, FL 763 Steve Cooler Critchfield Yamaha Kilo Straightaway APBA 86.772 4/8/2006 Crescent City,FL JerrySellner Allison Mercury The 70.561 is a 56 OMC. The 68.519 is a 69 Yamaha Both on Critchfields. Both are in the area of 80 mph straightaway speeds to average that lap speed. 950lb weight class! The 88.772 is on a 20 foot boat 100 plus cubic inch All motors are Mod. Mod 90 Yamaha and mod 56 are close performance wise. |
