So it would be a good dual purpose family boat. Cottage toy and run it in T750 at the races.

We added more to our data base after the testing and weighing of boats at the 6 Mile T Party

We confirmed to the racers what we have be saying for the last two years.

Class Boat Weights

T850 is 725lb. Boat Motor and Driver
If you are running an Original EP Danny Critchfield boat or a Marty Critchfield and you weigh 155 lbs or less wearing your complete safety gear you will just make the weight of 725 lbs. Most boats were 35 to 50 lbs heavy. So for you guys worring that your too heavy, don't worry. Dave's new Allison was the lightest boat we have weighed to date. 521 lbs with no driver. That boat does not have a setback or power trim. Scott Whittington's SSV Baker is the heaviest boat weighed to-date at 684 lbs. No driver! YES HE IS VERY COMPETITIVE IN T850!

T750 is 625 lbs.
Almost impossible to be under weight. Females will have an advantage for sure. That is a good thing.

Engines
We didn't have any T850 Yamahas there. We did have both 49 and 56 OMC LEGAL T motors and one SST 70 T Boat.
The 49 and 56 T motors were very competitive against each other and as expected the SST 70 motor had better performance.

It would be interesting to see how much we have improved since our initial tests at Waterford a few years ago.

Even the removal of the 70CES from the UIM list of motors has not hurt their local club races. Just like us here in Ontario, racers come back to race in this class [even at 70 years young]. This club has some good ideas to encourage new racers.

British UIM T850 / Monohull...2012
This class is limited to simple monohulls powered by standard stock outboard engines. Powertrim is now permitted in the senior classes. These are single hulled boats similar in design to a small ski boat. The driver sits down to race it.
Looks like the British are following our example and added power trim to the class in other than celled boats. Also they are running more open style boats than in previous years.

Good news and bad news
Seems there is a rigging going on with a change in power on the T750 Six Mile VooDoo.
It has Gig power and added a third cylinder.
Just another boat for DOC to pass on his way to the front

- Ricker has new Checkmate on the lake for 2012
- MarkMinden's(FBC) Voodoo w 20" 49ci sold, splashed into 6ML last Sat, on my bay 10 cottages down.
- Merccrazy was out testing his Critch last wkend, looks good
- Sat/Sun eveng, 6-7 T boats buzzing the lake, many others(ie: Larry/John) sitting idle.
