Best idea yet!
T750 stays how it is.
T850 becomes pure 49 + yamaha 70.
Make a T1000X class for the 56rs!!

i think u need cells if u have 1L motors, so T999X

How do the drags get around that?

We already have a 1 liter motor in T. The 60 Mercury is 59 cubic inch. I mentioned on another thread that in England they were testing the stock 90 hp Yamaha in T850 because they are running out of 70 CES motors. NO CELL. The 90 ran top 3 against the 70 CES motors and did not dominate. If we wanted to do the same it would be better if we limited the 90 hp to a 15 foot hull like a Viper. It would have to run pure stock long shaft. It is very interesting that with all the requested tech changes racers wanted in 2013 and all the different mods done to the current motors in T850 that stock 49 OMC wins at Dunnville both days. I don't think we have had another T850 do that other than Jim's stock 70 CES. The class is NOT about motor mods. It is about set up, driving and racing Luck.

We can't make rules to allow every individuals boat and motor combination legal. Right now we allow up to the 59 cubic inch 2 stroke motor. With in the current framework of the class we have been able to fit non conforming boats into their best class. IF? we get several boats exactly the same, we have the ability to make them their own group with in the class.

I did that to get your attention. I know you have a Viper. DOC and I are two of many that love that hull. Has anyone run that combo [90 yamaha]? I would think low to mid 60's. It would be good to know.

:) The problem with running a faster class with the T-750's is having to run back in their wash, which makes winning T-750 more difficult. The faster boats are getting in the way of the slower boats, effecting the outcome of a race. Having to turn wide around them, fighting their wash, or getting boxed in ( or out). That happened to me in the second T-750 heat Sat. at Dunnville. I was in a vice between a TC-750 cat and a T-750 boat. The door closed as I tried to sneak thru, forcing me to back off and lose a position. Had there only been T-750's that would not have occurred. Just my thoughts.

I do understand TORC is trying to compress the number of heats into a shorter time frame. However, if that's the case, then why don't we run 2 o3 Hydro classes together as well. Some of the Hydro classes only have 3 & 4 boats? Guess I don't understand the thinking on that.

Hydro's combined classes at every single event this year. They combine classes of similar speeds that have low numbers.

At Dunnville, class 25SSH was combined with 25MH... I was in the traffic/wash of a 25MH the whole time, the top 3 25SSH battled tightly for the whole race with the 25MH. It was great racing.

DMH, DSH and 125cch was combined to make one class.

Combing of classes will not go away unless you want to leave people on the beach. If we left the boats on the beach that didn't have enough to make a class we would quickly die. Where would T750 be if we didn't combine them with T850 the last couple years? T750 is just starting to get it's legs.

many sports combine classes on a track at once... car racing, motorcycle racing, bicycle racing, running, swimming, etc. traffic is part of racing.
