Wow...I am glad you are OK...Gusting conditions can be the worst...and no hull is exempt when running into them...I had a similar experience in a V-Stream too...only at 70mph...My hull went to the "point of Return" fortunately for me...and passenger...when it lifted... I featherd back on the Foot Throttle...easing out of it...making sure not to unload the prop...that's is usually when they let go (when it's unloaded)...it planted back...and we were still going over 60 when it returned to the surface...WILD RIDE...again...glad you are OK...and just another good reason to have spotters too...we had a spotter running behind, at the time and he said the whole experience went about the length of football field

Tom glad your OK! The boat can be replaced, a person of your caliber can't!
I'll second that about wearing life jackets and tether, even with everything in working order when I flipped my HST, smashed my knee and ankle(crutches for a couple of weeks), fractured the wife's back and busted her big toe, hospital for 3 weeks and 5 weeks of REST. the guy in the back seat went to work the next day(lots of aspirin). My ins. co. was real good about the claim and even remove the deductible, so I hope yours treats you well.

Kinda made the mistake and told the Wife what had happened to Tom  ... Should not have done that ... Got the lecture " Why does everything have to GO FAST and be a race with you..." She went on for a little while... Tom's incident and my wife's lecture made me think that maybe I take to many chances... or maybe not... I usually drive within my comfort zone , based on conditions, and don't think that I am putting myself or anyone at risk ... but this is an example of "shit happens"... best thing out of all this is that he's OK...

Thx Kenny - I've heard it a few times now as well.
Really - it was a fluke thing. Could have got run over crossing the street just as easy.
The main lesson is - it can happen, and to do what you can to be prepared
