Update... I have the fairing mounted... But I had to cut the crap out of it for clearance... I'm not happy, but it will have to do.

cool bike....but c'mon Mitch I would like to see some of your inginuity in your project. I figured you would be making this into a dual purpose Amphibike that could reach ballistic speeds on land yet have a retractable paddle wheel like rear tire that would allow you to do wheelies down the lake so you could beat James Cole down 5G bay....while also throwing a higher and longer rooster tail :D

It's headache inducing just trying to get everything to fit... lol.

The fairing was never meant to be used with clip on bars. That is becoming a huge pain in the ass... I have a pile of 40 year old fibreglass all around it and blisters from working the trigger on the grinder... hahaha.

All I know is that you are going to be exhausted kicking that thing over to start it. You have not aged well :)

Actually I am glad you are building it. I have always associated you with a bike. I secretly want to buy the other 754 so we can go for a ride ;)

Picked up the VFR today, and non too soon. Sold my tow vehicle so I had to ride from TO to Gp Bikes in Whitby.
Had dodge snow squalls, gusting side winds and COLD in weekend traffic on the 401
Glad that's over, I'm all set for next year.

Been there... Its one of the reasons I stopped riding.. lol.

Some updates... Got the carbs and exhaust on... Things are flowing nicely. I have to pull one of the fairing mounts off to get welded up for steering stops. Wheels are also coming off (not only in the brocos game) Tommorow for new rubber. Pretty soon its just body work and paint.

Steering stops, what for?
Looks like your tank (or your thumbs) will do that job... lol

Seriously though. Are your stops too short or just not there?
I use lead wheel weights on the race bike to shorten the stops but most importantly to cushion impact.
Been tested in real life a few times, the weights get crushed before the tabs break.

Okay... So I have been making some progress. A friend of mine made me a bracket to mount dual calipers on the front.. I finished the fairing brackets and installed them. New rubber is on.. I just have to button everything down and repair some wiring. Then it's all body work (I figured I would just have boomer come over and do all the sanding for me... I'd trade him darts for labour.. lol.) I got a windscreen and taped it on to see how it would look and threw my double seat on just so the wife and I could get a feel for the old beast. The header is beat bad.. So I'm gonna wrap it this weekend with the DEI stuff. My friend also added the steering stops back onto the fairing bracket.. I have no pics but it was a beautiful job.

I am getting psyched.
