The 24x7 super is a good comparison considering my xb is pretty on par hp wise. I bet it runs 65-70 first time out

You do have the 4" correct, but surely you can't be referring to the hundreds and hundreds of hp Plumbed through my diesels

It is possible it could take a bit to plane out with a top end prop? It will work better I think though. likely very little performance downfall. I'm not to sure how many single outboards of this particular boat are out there. Many of the few outboard versions have twins. They must have been rigged before people gave a fuck about practicality (I figure between1980 and 1989)

That big block NEVER 370hp...even a MAG was only 330 AND it didn't have to go through a tranny. The 24 soup bowl we have in our group runs the equivalant amount of set back and pops on plane with a 27p and 5 people and a bunch of fuel. The Martini is a bit heavier but it has an extra 2 feet of nose which will help put it on plane...and it doesn't have a kabillion lbs of car motor in the back. The Merc weigh about the same as that effing TRS that was on there. I ran a 24X7 with my 225 on it for a number of years (Sr did have a couple of cool boats before he dedicated his life to the perfect Roast lol) and it pushed us and our luggage on plane no problem and ran 65 (light)....with a 24" setback. A stock car motor uses all it's torque pushing itself...and if it wasn't for the sound of thru-hulls they would have NO appeal in a boat like this. Throw a blower on it and it's a different story...but...that ain't this...

Twin 1984 black max(i) for a total of 278hp turning 24" choppers....ooooohhhhhhh yaaaaa....that'll make the hammer pants flap.. :mrgreen:

My challenger only has 200hp a side! It'll still run 80's and the motors/cases last 35 yrs! I don't see a problem!
