I needed a new drag plate... And I wanted something different... SO Lexan it it.
Bending 1/4 inch lexan sucks.
P.S... If it works .. I may make a few of them and sell them. (if people like them)

I heated it with a heat gun in a vice (with steel extensions like a sheet metal bender) and got up on my work bench and pushed with my foot as hard as i could... Then repeated process with more heat. (Keep in mind that I am a rotund 215lbs) The key is to heat it slowly as you can boil internal moisture inside of it (Which I did a little wee bit on one spot. I'm gonna make a skid planer tonight for my jackplate (I'm tired of wash coming up between the jackplate and motor when planing up. |

I don't know if you've run the cav plate yet but that will also help with the 'wash over the back' issue. It did on my boat anyways. This fall I am going to steal all of your ideas and adapt them for my own use. Keep up the good work! |
