T850 PUBLIC Facebook....many OMC's now in the class

AND EVEN A TOASTER....https://scontent.fybz2-1.fna.fbcdn.net/ ... e=5EC8FBCC

The typo error in the OPBRA 2020 rule book got me looking into the 50G Yamaha.
Looks similar to the 70CES and uses a few 6J2 [70CES] parts. I like to buy one and look at it side by side with my original 70CES and even run it on the same Critchfield. The 50G model was built well into the 2000 and has gone thru several part changes.

Well it ends up I have a refreshed long block in stock.
I won it on ebay in 2012. I couldn't understand the code
http://www.boatracingfacts.com/forums/s ... -62F-50-HP
'
I put a new crank, rods and pistons in it and stored it.
I could not find the rest of the parts at that time to finish it.
I have the correct 15 inch mid section with tuner and muffler.
I also have the correct drive shaft and lower unit.

I put a post on Ron Hill's site for a complete powerhead. Hopefully I will get one.

Then I can assembly a perfect one out of the two.
I want to have the motor 100% stock......stock compression.
No race prep just bone stock.

My guess is it will be slower top end wise to my STOCK 50D Tohatsu......But could be quicker because of its better acceleration.

When you look at a similar model year of a 70 hp 6H3, 60 hp 6H2 and a 50 hp 62F it is difficult to notice the difference.
The 6H3 and 6H2 use the same block and sleeve.
The 62F has a different sleeve in the same block.
The 6H3 and 6H2 share the same carburetor with a different jetting.
The 62F looks like a different size small primer carburetor.

50hp

60/70 hp

The link has a 60 hp and 50 hp side by side....the 50 hp has the later ignition

I am beginning to think all one needs to do is run the small 62F carbs and it will make any 6H2 or 6H3 50 to 55 hp max.
IF SO WOULDN'T THAT BE NICE FOR MATT, RICK AND FOR OPBRA IF THE YAMAHA GUYS COULD MAKE A SIMPLE CARB SWITCH AND RUN IN BOTH T750 AND T850!!

JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE FOUND ALL THE MODELS..
UP POPS ANOTHER VERSION
THE 60FET0........SHORT SHAFT!!!

https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dlya- ... eto-753942

The 70B, 60F and 50G short shafts all share the same parts:
EXCEPT:
- 70B has the 6H3 large lower unit
- 60F has the smaller lower unit, different reed stop plate and smaller jets
- 50G has smaller carbs, different sleeve and head, and the 60F reed stop plate

The 60C [6H2]model powerhead is the same as the 60F [6H2] powerhead without oil injection.
Plus the 60C has the large [6H3] lower unit.
From a cost and inspection point this is the best option for a cross-over.
You can still buy the short shaft drive shaft, but it would be less costly to rework a long drive shaft to short.
I think this would be slower than the 50G [62F] or the 60F [6H2] because of the smaller lower unit on these two models.
BUT, equal to the 60 hp OMC 49 big foot.
