Finally got the Jcraft finished and back in the water. The most noticeable difference is the rigidity of the hull since replacing the floor and transom and knees and adding a centre stringer. It just feels more buoyant yet solid. Kinda like going from a '74 Olds 98 with a mushy suspension to a new Mustang GT or Camaro SS.
Also visited Mr. Spaeth to pick up some original J craft emblems ;)
Here are a few pics.

The aluminum bracket you see on the side is for a portable barefoot boom that I made up

Very cool. I never thought of having my brother make a barefoot boom - we just bought one. Is the pole aluminum? Does it flex?

Yes aluminum. A little vertical flex but no horizontal flex with the 2 cables attached. I dont think it is any worse than a fiberglass one. I used the deluxe quality no stretch coated clothline cable and covered with the foam 1/2" copper pipe insulation to protect the hull. Used nothing else other than hockey stick tape..eh for the handle grip
