Average salary is around $50K. By region it ranges from 43-60, 2015 figures. The $60K average was Alberta and the newer data from there is probably lower.

No I did not mean what government figures are for average salary, I mean real wages for real people, the working class.
those high figures are the average when million dollar wages are taken into account.

no average joe in the street doing a 40 hour shift is earning $60,000 in Canada. that's a top job for working class

look at wages of street cleaners, truck delivery drivers, van drivers, shop girls, postmen, ups drivers, fed ex drivers.
that's what is real people and average working class wage.

we too get stupid crazy figures in our news over here about the average worker in London getting 60 to 70 thousand per year.
that's bullshit, the average working class wage is around £20,000 for a 45 hour week. that's before tax deductions.
Hourly rate now for drivers is around £7 per hour, semi trailer driver £8 per hour sometimes, most of the time its less.

If an average blokes wage was 50 grand Canada would be filling up with English every day.
that's a grand per week...err dont think.

if you mean a pint of beer, then its around £3.50 in a pub or about £1 if you buy a can of cheap beer at super market.
uk £1 = $2 Canadian !!!
petrol is £1.12 per litre ( it went down from £1.45 per litre last year). so 1 gallon £5.08 = $10.16 canadian
a 4 litre can of mercury 2 stroke premium is £44.05 and that's cheap on ebay, in a boat shop around £50.

A beer here is $7...$12 at a hockey game. You fuel is disproportionately expensive but I'd bet most things are relative...you don't find everyone moving here from there because $60k here is equal to your $30k

2011 numbers:

median family income in Canada is $76,000 — generally higher in the west than the east — while the median individual income is just $27,600. That means just as many individuals earn less than $27,600 as earn more.

2014 median income individual was up to $32790

I can't drink beer anymore but another measure of currency equivalency is the Big Mac
