Post subject:  LIFELINE/TORC SAFETY GEAR SALE

Posting here rather than CBF/For sale sections.

Christmas is coming, again. Your parents, wife, kids, husband, girl/boy friends will ask what you want for Xmas.
Make it easy for them: CASH MONEY!!

Several NEW TORC/CBF racers getting into Drag/T/Stock Outboard/TCat. Everyone must be safety compliant to get on the course.
Also, HPB/FBC lake racers doing >70mph would be wise to wear flak protective racing jackets.
Most here know of 2 severe 2012 Ontario off course lake accidents. Fortunately each walked away after being rescued/hospitalised. One driver went through his T850 dashboard, broke ribs, scratched/busted up. The other flew out of his lake racer, scratched/busted up going out. Both lucky to walk after convalescence.
Frankly, as pointed out by experienced TORC racers, it's even more important to wear safety gear out alone on the lake than on a race course where rescue boats and paramedics are available on site.
THAT is the rationale to your wife/kids/husband/insurance broker for your 2012 Xmas gift.

LIFELINE is currently offering a 10% pre-Xmas sale prior to Dec 21.
I have contacted LIFELINE management requesting a bulk purchase discount.
For a bulk order only LIFELINE will increase discount to 15%.
Link and products:http://www.lifelinejackets.com/main/

Pricing:
T/Drag: Jacket(Comp Vest $510), Pants($265), Sleeves($235): $1010 -15%= $860 + tx
SO(Hydro): Jacket(Kneeler $640), Pants($265), Sleeves($235): $1140 -15%= $970 + tx

Bell Helmet: $280 -15%= $240 + tx
Bag: $60 -15%= $51+ tx

Pants & sleeves, colours other than orange are available: black/yellow/tan/etc...
Although Drag rules do not mandate sleeves/pants,.... why abstain when legs and arms tucked under dash if boat comes to a stop from 80/90/100mph? Sleeves & pants mitigate injury.

LIFELINE ships to US or CDA. If US, travelling there over winter, bring them back as beachwear, exercise your CRA duty exemption. Lifeline requires 4-5weeks to manufacture. I require order form completed with full funds prior to placing order. I know 4 racers who will order gear for 2013.

Let me know by DECEMBER 15, deadline for $$$ and order form completion in hand....15% ONLY APPLIES TO BULK ORDER.

Erik - I am in for this. If I read this correct basically then if we get a group buy together they will bump it to 15% but we are responsible for shipping and/or pickup from the US?

Let's get orders together to benefit from 15% discount. We can coordinate shipping/delivery alternatives.

Stealing NB's witicism: matching purse & heels, purple feather boa.

CBF Drag Rule 14, Safety:
(14-1) Driver Safety Equipment
A. During any race, every participant must wear a full shell competition helmet. Helmets must meet Snell 1985 standards or equivalent or newer. Open face with eye protection or full face helmets are permitted. Any colour is permitted. Helmet restraints are recommended for all classes.
B. In all race categories every participant must wear a life jacket (P.F.D.) designed for sanctioned racing with leg straps or thigh skirts, and skid collars. A jacket with 360 flak protection is recommended.
C. CBF General Safety Rules for life jackets apply, except that the Drag Category is exempt from any color requirements
(14-7) Clothing requirements are as follows: long pants and closed toe shoes are required; and long sleeved shirts are recommended.

NB: recommendations are not mandatory. However, in interests of driver saftey and liability, it is possible a current recommendation may become mandatory in future if a rule change is proposed & accepted at CBF convention rule review. For anyone driving >60mph, flak protection in lifejacket is recommended to mitigate torso injury. For budgeting purposes, some might decide to acquire lifejacket this year, opt for pants and sleeves next year.
