I saw an older 200XS on S&F. It's in Florida, and that's too far for me. I'm not brave enough to buy a motor without seeing it.

It got me thinking about what to look for in buying an older Opti. Are the compressors grenades waiting to blow? Should the compressor be replaced as maintenance? What should be looked at? What do you look for if you suspect the motor has been run in salt.

There is no sign of my XR4 selling, so this is mostly curiosity.

I looked at a few Yamahas from salt water, both my 2.5's that came with the challenger and my buddy bought a 300pm out of saltwater.... And with my limited experiance I would never buy anything salt water... Everything is fucked and won't come apart..
